Stars Behind the Blinds

The stars twinkle in the night sky,

Filling each eye with wonder,

Revealing a world outside their own.

Sill there are people who shut the blinds,

Shutting out what is just outside,

Blocking it from ever coming in.

Those who don't want to believe,

Hiding away in their own world,

Never going to see more.

People don't understand,

And they never will,

As long as they hide behind the blinds.

At night as they close their eyes,

This is when wonder can finally seep through,

Can finally be seen.

Scaring them with the real world,

Giving them realization they are not alone,

That others go out and stare at the stars.

Each star shows a new wish,

Shining bright in the dark night sky,

But they are unseen behind the blinds.
