In This Mirror

When I look in this mirror,

All I see are flaws,

Seeing all that should be different,

What should be changed.

Unable to see what you say,

Because what you say is not here,

Beauty is not in this mirror,

Perfection is no where to be seen.

Instead I see something else,

With chubby cheeks and fat arms,

Able to see every pimple and bump,

Nothing is ever even.

How I wish I was what you say,

Instead that person is nowhere to be found,

Missing from this mirror,

Missing from my reality.

Wanting to lose all this weight,

To look like that girl,

The one that deserves you,

One worthy of your love.

Since that person is not in this mirror,

Here I will sit,

Looking at every flaw,

Wanting to change it all.
