The days tread on,

Leaving more heart break with every night fall,

Causing tears to cover the streets.

Time and time again the world breaks us,

Leaving us broken,

We continue to fall to the floor.

Destined to be stuck,

To have no escape from this world,

But we are always looking for one.

Everyone goes through tragedy,

Wanting the pain to end,

For it all to be over.

As we look for our escape,

The pain grows stronger,

Breaking us further.

Our only comfort comes from others,

But soon they will leave,

They always leave.

Only we can hold ourselves,

Get ourselves through the pain,

We are our own hero's.
